The twenty-first century is off to a turbulent start. Amidst the current threats and dangers, those who deny absolutes and proclaim all truth is relative are discovering the difficulty of finding meaningful answers for the problems facing us today.
We at Saint John's believe that there are absolutes that can be counted on as a basis for one's life. We base this belief on the revelation of the one true God, who sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to live among us, to die for us and our sins, and to rise again in triumph over sin and death. All who believe in Jesus shall have eternal life.
These acts of God have eternal significance. They are as true today as they were 2,000 years ago. That some reject them or hold fervently to other beliefs does not alter their inherent truth.
It is true that God loves us so much that He came as Jesus and lived among us to show us how a godly life should be lived. It is true that Jesus died on the cross for us. It is true that He cares for us, and our ultimate well-being. Upon such truth we Christians base our lives and have confidence that God will care for us in the here and the hereafter.
What we believe is simply what Christians have believed from the earliest days of the Church. Recently there have been renewed efforts to dilute the Christian faith. It is against these errors that we stand so firmly. Thus it is for the full, vibrant and historic faith that we take our stand!
Our Worship, our Liturgy, expresses these truths in many ways. Because we believe that our worship of God is a profound duty and privilege, we take worship quite seriously and follow time-tested orders of worship that express the truth revealed by God. We reserve fellowship for after worship so that our attention during worship is directed to God, not to ourselves, nor to other people.
We invite you to join with us in worshipping God, in learning about the truths He has revealed to mankind, and in experiencing His love as well as the power of His presence among His people.
We worship together every Sunday at 11 Olmsted Street in Mt. Laurel. Visitors are warmly received! You are invited to visit with us next Sunday, or if you wish, a priest or parishioner will be happy to call on you at home to tell you about St. John's.
God Willing, we expect to begin the first phase of a building program here at Mt. Laurel with the construction of a chapel with seating for about 120 worshippers. The second phase will be the wing for classrooms, a fellowship hall, and office spaces. The third phase will be the main church building with seating for about 500 worshippers. Come and be a part of this journey of Faith, Christian Friendship, and Community.
